GENERAL INFORMATION
Nitrogen (from ancient Greek “άψυχος” – “lifeless”) is a colorless, tasteless and odorless diatomic gas. It is one of the most abundant elements on Earth. Nitrogen is the main component of air (78% by volume), chemically very inert, but reacts with complex compounds of transition metals. Nitrogen is one of the main biogenic elements that make up proteins and nucleic acids. With a rapid decrease in pressure, Nitrogen causes decompression sickness. Many Nitrogen compounds are very active and often toxic.
APPLICATION
Scopes of Nitrogen:
- in metallurgy – in the processes of hardening and annealing of metal, during vacuum degassing to create the necessary conditions for continuous casting of steel, as well as during cold working;
- in the chemical industry – to produce nitrogen fertilizers and ammonia;
- in the food industry – for packaging and storage of food products, for cleaning and filling refrigeration units;
- in the oil and gas industry – to stabilize pressure while drilling wells and during equipment repair;
- in medicine – for cryogenic therapy, removal of various neoplasms on the surface of the skin, for anti-aging procedures;
- as a means of fire extinguishing in gas fire installations;
- in electronics – to produce semiconductors;
- in glass production – for cooling electrodes in arc furnaces;
- in metal welding – to create a protective gas environment.
PRODUCTION
INGAS LLC produces and sells Nitrogen corresponding to DSTU GOST 9293-74 (ISO 2435-73, IDT), TU U 24.1-14361569-007: 2006, as well as its mixtures of various concentrations.
